Preparing You for pregnancy, labour and birth.


I love a bit of preparation!


Sometimes it’s hard to set the time aside, and the routine demands of daily living can make it feel impossible.


But when you’ve created your timetable for the training schedule for the marathon you plan on running next year...




or opened all of the websites with the information you need for the new car you’re going to buy at the change of number plate...




or collected the photos and images for your vision board for your wedding in two years time...




Don’t you feel such a sense of achievement? Isn’t it so much better than running around last minute trying to get things done before time runs out?


In exactly the same way, think about the things you’ll need as you start or grow your family. Preparing for pregnancy, labour and birth is so wonderful!



Buying the pregnancy magazines - I’ll never forget the “week-by-week” guides to show how big baby was growing...


Talking to family and friends about what having a baby was like for them...


Signing up to the baby websites to get the “freebies”...


Endless window shopping trips, and internet site searching, to look at prams, cots, baby clothes...


Buying the toiletries and nappies when they are on offer in the supermarket...


But what about you? How do you prepare you?


Being pregnant is a special time, and every single pregnancy is unique.


It’s fun and exciting preparing for a new tiny human, but it can also be daunting too. How much do you remember from your lessons in senior school? Were you even taught about physiology of labour - how the body works?


If the answers are “not much” and a resounding “nope”...


DON’T PANIC!


That’s where I come in.



I am a Registered Midwife with 10 years of experience (13 if you include the 3 years training!) of providing maternity care and antenatal education, and nearly 5 years of Hypnobirthing teaching.


I am also fully trained in Pregnancy Aromatherapy Massage to help ease the aches and pains of pregnancy, and release that wonderful hormone of love, oxytocin.


What does this mean for you?


I will hold a safe space for you to explore this new phase of your life.



I will gently support you by providing information and the latest research based evidence to help inform you, and guide your decision process making for you and your baby.


I will walk beside you on your journey through pregnancy, labour, and birth.

I will share your joy as you realise how prepared you are for your baby’s birth.


I will help you find ways to keep your physical and emotional well-being at a good level.
